Quiet by design — Executed with surgical precision and finished to the sub-millimetre, each bowl settles seamlessly into place yet lifts without effort. The result: a flawless, rattle-free fit.

Why the Solo — Perfect if your dog likes food and water separate, you’re short on space, or you want a spare bowl to keep water handy in another spot.

Smart measure — Stamped measurements inside every bowl (2 C | 0.45 L) take the guesswork out of feeding. Fill once, no extra measuring.

Flared bowl rim — A flared rim with rolled edge sits proud of the stand for easy gripping and lifting, even with wet hands or short nails. Bowls lift out cleanly, drop back in effortlessly, and always sit snug.

Powder-coated aluminium stand — Made in New Zealand from 4 mm aluminium, strong, stable and lightweight for smaller dogs. Finished in the toughest powder coat on the market.

Non-slip rubber feet — Protect floors from scrapes and keep the stand steady.

    ENGINEERED TO PERFORM

"Looks aren’t enough. The Subwoofer Solo is an elevated feeder engineered with exacting precision — quiet, stable, and effortless to use — setting a standard ordinary bowls can’t touch."

    SILENT, SNUG FIT

Most elevated bowls rattle with every bite. Ours don’t. Engineered to within half a millimetre, the bowls slot smoothly into the stand and stay quietly in place — no silicone rings, no noise. The flared edge isn’t just distinctive — it gives your fingers more to hold, dropping in quietly and lifting out smoothly. A subtle detail, designed to make every meal easier. Paired with our silent collars, mealtimes can be a refreshingly quiet affair.

    BUILT TO LAST

“Made with premium materials and engineered for performance, every Subwoofer bowl is guaranteed for five years and built to look fantastic for many more.
These are investment bowls — buy once, buy well.”

    signature bowl design

The flared rim is a Subwoofer signature, distinctive and deliberate, designed to keep mealtimes quiet and handling effortless.
Each brushed stainless bowl is stamped with volume markings for accurate feeding and quicker prep, no extra scoops or guesswork required.

    WHY THE SOLO

Not every dog, or every meal, calls for two bowls side by side. Some dogs prefer their water well away from their food. Some homes need to save space. Others just want an extra bowl to keep water handy. The Solo keeps things simple and gives you the flexibility to feed the way that works best for you.

    SOLID & STEADY

Made from thick aluminium, the Solo stand is light in the hand yet strong and steady on the floor. Substantial enough without overdoing it, it won’t tip or slide across the kitchen. Finished in a highly durable, commercial-grade powder coat that resists chips and wear, it’s built to look sharp and stay that way for years.

    5-YEAR GUARANTEE

Every Subwoofer bowl comes with a five-year guarantee, though we fully expect it to serve dinner for a decade. Built for daily rituals, it’s steady, stylish, and as dependable as the dog who waits beside it.

Amazing quality and looks sleek and stylish.

    MANEESHA

    THE STORY BEHIND OUR BOWL

Subwoofer’s bowls began with Monkey, my tiny black-and-tan partner in crime, and a designer feeder I’d bought from Germany. It was lovely… until it wasn’t. The bowls sat so close together Monkey’s ears dipped into the water, and they rattled with every bite. Picking them up required long nails I didn’t have. And the constant noise? It drove us both mad.

So I stripped those problems away and created the Subwoofer Duo: silent, stable, and designed with a subtle dip between bowls to keep floppy ears dry. But not every dog — or every home — calls for two bowls side by side. Some prefer food and water kept apart. Some homes need to save space. Others simply like an extra bowl for water.

That’s why we made the Solo. It shares the same engineering DNA: a snug, silent fit that lifts out easily without rattling, a flared rim for easy handling, and stands built from solid aluminium with a premium powder-coat finish. Every detail exists for a reason: quiet, practical, beautiful.

Designed from a dog’s point of view, built to look at home in yours. Original, registered, and made in small batches in New Zealand.

    FAQs

WHY DO SUBWOOFER BOWLS COST MORE?

Because they’re not mass-produced, off-the-shelf feeders. We designed them from scratch to fix every flaw cheaper elevated bowls can’t. Thoughtful engineering and premium materials naturally carry a higher price, but the goal was performance and longevity, not padding the cost.

To make them cheaper we’d have to cut corners: use generic bowls without precise measurement stamping or an easy-lift rim, accept rattling because a stock shape wouldn’t allow a snug, silent fit, use thinner aluminium and weaken the stand, settle for powder coat that chips and rusts, and skip properly fitting rubber feet. And none of that could come with a five-year guarantee. That’s not how we roll at Subwoofer.

We absorbed a five-figure tooling investment rather than passing it all on — but premium materials, custom moulds, and craftsmanship inevitably make our bowls costlier than mass-produced, white-labelled feeders. We know that isn’t for everyone, but for those who care about design details and who see the value in investing once rather than replacing often, these bowls will be a delight to own and use for years to come.

IS THE SMALL SOLO RIGHT FOR MY PET?

Our small Solo (15 cm tall, 2 cup capacity bowl) is designed for cats and small dogs under 15 kg. It isn’t suitable for larger breeds because their meals and water needs are simply too big.

A medium Solo is planned for the future, but in the meantime, our Duo Medium offers the same precision engineering with a 4-cup capacity that’s perfect for bigger dogs.

HOW MUCH SPACE WILL IT TAKE UP?

    L 24CM x W 18.5CM x H 15CM | L 9 1/2IN X W 7IN X H 6IN

The small Solo has a footprint about the size of a small dinner plate. It’s compact enough not to clutter your floor, ideal for small spaces, and easy to tuck under a hall table, beside a pantry, or into a quiet kitchen corner.

IS THIS BOWL SUITABLE FOR OUTDOOR USE?

The bowl and stand are built for indoor use but will cope perfectly well on a covered patio or any sheltered spot. The stainless steel and powder-coated aluminium can handle weather changes, but the rubber feet aren’t designed for constant sun or rain, so avoid leaving the set fully exposed to the elements long-term.

    RAISED BOWLS: HELP OR HYPE?

Raised bowls can absolutely help some dogs, especially seniors or those with stiff joints — by easing strain on the neck and back. The “hype” comes from debate around bloat risk: opinions vary, so it’s always best to check with your vet if you’re unsure. Our stands lift bowls 15 cm off the floor — high enough to add comfort, never so high as to be excessive.

    HOW STABLE IS THE STAND?

The small Solo is carefully proportioned so it won’t wobble or tip. Its rubber feet don’t just protect your floors — they add grip, keeping the stand sturdy through the occasional paw bump or mealtime shuffle. Think of it like a sports car: low, balanced, and built to hug the ground.

IS THE STAINLESS STEEL FOOD GRADE?

Absolutely! We use food-grade 304 stainless steel, the same grade widely used for kitchen utensils and cookware. It’s more than adequate for pet food bowls, non-toxic, rust-resistant, and chosen so you can feed your dog with complete confidence. As with any new kitchenware, we recommend giving the bowls a run through the dishwasher before first use.
