    CARE | MATERIALS

    Stand (powder coated aluminium):
    Wipe with a soft cloth or hand wash in mild detergent. Not dishwasher safe. Avoid abrasive cleaners to preserve the finish.


    Bowls (brushed 304 stainless steel):
    Dishwasher safe for easy cleaning. Wash thoroughly before first use.

    Feet (rubber):
    Non-slip feet may react with certain floor surfaces. If in doubt, place a mat underneath the stand for protection.

    The flared rim is a Subwoofer signature, distinctive and deliberate, designed to keep mealtimes quiet and handling effortless. On the larger bowl, its pronounced angle demanded a second mould to get the scale just right — a quiet nod to the engineering behind these deceptively simple bowls.
    Each brushed stainless bowl is stamped with volume markings for accurate feeding and quicker prep, no extra scoops or guesswork required. The larger sizes use thicker stainless steel, because bigger bowls take harder knocks.

    THE STORY BEHIND OUR BOWL

    Subwoofer’s bowls began with Monkey, my tiny black and tan partner in crime and a designer feeder from Germany. It was lovely… until it wasn’t. The bowls clattered, Monkey's ears got wet and cleaning was a chore.

    So I started over. A silent, snug fit. A gentle dip for floppy ears. A rim you can grip without long nails. Measurements stamped inside for precision feeding. Stands engineered from heavy-gauge aluminium, powder-coated for strength and years of quiet use.

    WHY DO SUBWOOFER BOWLS COST MORE?

    Subwoofer bowls cost more because they're not off-the-shelf products with a logo added.

    Every component was designed from scratch and produced to our specifications. We've invested heavily in custom tooling, moulds and development to create bowls that are quiet, durable and built to last.

    We've explored ways to reduce production costs, including manufacturing offshore. The reality is that quality materials, custom tooling and precision manufacturing remain expensive wherever they're made.

    The Medium bowls cost more because they're substantially larger products, using thicker 6mm aluminium stands, larger stainless steel bowls and more material throughout.

    In short: they're expensive to make, but they're built to last.

    WHAT SIZE SHOULD I CHOOSE?

    The simplest guide is bowl capacity and height.

    Small — 2-cup bowls, 15cm high. Suitable for most dogs between 5kg and 15kg.

    Medium — 4.5-cup bowls, 18cm high. Suitable for most dogs over 15kg.

    The Small stand is 15cm high and the Medium is 18cm high. For very tall breeds, the Medium may not be a perfect height, but it will still be more comfortable than feeding from the floor.

    HOW MUCH SPACE WILL THEY TAKE UP?

    The Small has roughly the footprint of a medium-sized tote bag, while the Medium is more like a narrow breakfast-in-bed tray. Both are designed to tuck neatly into a corner of the kitchen, beside a pantry cabinet, or under a console table. We recommend positioning them out of busy walkways so neither you nor your dog is competing for floor space.

    ARE THE BOWLS SUITABLE FOR OUTDOOR USE?

    The bowls and stand are built for indoor use but will cope perfectly well on a covered patio or any sheltered spot. The stainless steel and powder-coated aluminium can handle weather changes, but the rubber feet aren’t designed for constant sun or rain, so avoid leaving the set fully exposed to the elements long-term.

    RAISED BOWLS: HELP OR HYPE?

    Raised bowls can absolutely help some dogs, especially seniors or those with stiff joints — by easing strain on the neck and back. The “hype” comes from debate around bloat risk: opinions vary, so it’s always best to check with your vet if you’re unsure. Our stands lift bowls 15 - 18cm off the floor — high enough to add comfort, never so high as to be excessive.

    HOW STABLE ARE THE STANDS?

    We carefully balanced the height-to-width ratio to maximise stability—one reason we haven't gone taller on the Medium size. The rubber feet don't just protect your floors; they add grip and help keep the stand firmly in place. These stands are engineered to stay steady through the occasional paw bump, enthusiastic eater or mealtime shuffle.

    IS THE STAINLESS STEEL FOOD GRADE?

    Absolutely! We use food-grade 304 stainless steel, the same grade widely used for kitchen utensils and cookware. It’s more than adequate for pet food bowls, non-toxic, rust-resistant, and chosen so you can feed your dog with complete confidence.
